Student Award.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 assessment period (January 1 to December 31, 2025). 

The award is valued at $1000. presented annually to two students by the Nova Scotia Criminal Justice Association.  The deadline for submission has been extended to March 31, 2026.

NSCJA Program Committee will be hosting virtual workshops on  April 10, April 24, and May 8, 2026 from  12-1pm.

Topics in order are currently- 

  • Patrick Young, Senior Crown Attorney, Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service.  Intro to Judicial Interim Release, (bail).
  • Dr. Nicole Myers, Queens University.  Research on the effectiveness of bail.  
  • John Howard Society/E-Fry Cape Breton.  Presenting on supports and services for individuals released on bail supervision.
