SCANS Session 3:  Sexual Assault cases

This session examined the criminal justice system’s response to allegations of sexual assault.
It addressed public misperceptions concerning the nature of the legislation relating to sexual assault, issues of consent, burden of proof, protections offered to complainants and the role of the Crown and defence in criminal proceedings.
